Our Partnership With the St. Croix River Education District

Rush City is a member of the St. Croix River Education District (SCRED). SCRED was formed in 1991 and has been supporting Rush City for many years. In Minnesota, “Education Districts” help school districts to operate with greater fiscal efficiency by allowing them to share staff and services with neighboring school districts. Support for Special Education

SCRED staff partner closely with our special education department. Leadership of our special education procedures, training for staff, curriculum, and much more is provided by SCRED staff in collaboration with Rush City leaders. Some SCRED staff work every day in Rush City schools (e.g., our School Psychologist) while others are “itinerant” (e.g., Occupational Therapists), supporting multiple school districts.

Support for All Learners

SCRED staff are a critical part of our mission to create global citizens who are lifelong learners. They work alongside Rush City staff to analyze grade-wide, school-wide, and district-wide data and develop plans for how the district can improve teaching and learning, foster positive school climates for students and staff, and use our resources efficiently. SCRED staff also help us to identify students who need additional support and to provide targeted interventions for those students.  Language Instruction Educational Program (LIEP) Plan

Support for the Community

SCRED staff operate Adult Basic Education programs, Community Education programs, a summer school for Gifted & Talented students, early childhood family programs, and many other programs that benefit the Rush City community.
