Tigers Cheerleading Day Camp - NEW

Calling all future cheerleaders in grades 3-6! Don’t miss this chance to learn cheer skills, make new friends, and perform at an exciting Rush City Tigers basketball game!

Camp Details:

  • When: Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Where: Rush City High School
  • What to Wear: Royal blue or white shirt, black athletic shorts/leggings, and tennis shoes
  • What to Bring: Sack lunch and water bottle

Performance:

Our campers will showcase their new skills during half-time of the Varsity Boys' Basketball Game on Friday, January 24 (game starts at 7:00 p.m.).

  • Performance Attire: Royal blue or white shirt, bow, black athletic shorts/leggings, and tennis shoes

Cost: $30

Includes a snack, craft, and cheer bow!

Beginner Knitting

Time: 6:30 - 8:30 PM (Two Sessions)
Ages: 12+
Cost: $33

Learn knitting basics over two sessions! You’ll master casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off, with all materials provided, including yarn and knitting needles. You’ll even create an adorable knitted bunny from your practice square!

Loon Painting

Date: Wednesday, February 12, 2025
Time: 6:30 - 8:30 PM
Ages: 16+
Cost: $27

Capture the beauty of Minnesota’s state bird, the loon, in this guided painting session. Step-by-step instructions make creating a 16"×20" canvas easy and fun. No experience needed; all materials included!

Early Morning Walking at Rush City High School

Jumpstart your day with a refreshing morning walk indoors! Did you know a morning walk not only supports physical health but also boosts mental well-being? It's a gentle exercise that promotes focus, supports healthy blood pressure, and keeps you fit. Enjoy the high school halls without worrying about weather or slippery sidewalks. Bring a friend, and let’s walk together!

Details for Early Morning Walking: The Rush City Community Education program invites you to walk inside Rush City High School before classes begin. Walkers are welcome Monday through Friday starting at 6:30 am, with all participants checked out by 7:45 am.

Guidelines for Walkers: To join, stop by the high school office during regular hours (7:30 am – 3:30 pm) to complete a one-time check-in through our Hall Pass system. After your check-in, you’ll receive a walking badge to wear each time you visit. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Parking & Entrance: Park in the red zone at the back of the school and enter/exit through Door #4 (see map for details).
  • Sign-In & Sign-Out: Each morning, sign in upon arrival. If you finish walking before 7:30 am, sign out on the sheet provided. Walkers leaving after 7:30 am should sign out with a staff member at the office.

2024 Minnesota Hunter Education Firearm Safety Program

The field experience allows students to learn and demonstrate commonly accepted principles of safety in hunting and handling firearms. It includes live fire on a rifle range. Upon successful completion of this course, students receive a certificate. This certificate will allow the bearer to purchase a hunting license in Minnesota and other states where certification is required.

Requirements:  Students must be 12 years old by October 31, 2024.  The registration fee is $5.00 per student.

Dates: Monday, February 26th – Rush City High School Media Center
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM Registration & Parent / Student Introduction to the course; Parents or guardians must attend this session.  The parent release form must be signed by the parent or guardian.
