RUSH CITY EDUCATION FOUNDATION
Are you a community member or Rush City alumnus looking a way to “give back” or support Rush City Schools? Do you want to have a positive impact on student achievement or enhance learning opportunities for Rush City students? Would you like to promote projects related to science, the fine arts, technology, history, extra curriculars, or another discipline? If you answered “yes” to one or more of those questions, please read on!
A small group of people has been meeting about once a month since April 2011 to discuss and create the Rush City Education Foundation. The group includes Rush City alumni, former and current Rush City teachers, parents, and community members. With the help of an attorney, this group has developed organizational documents and bylaws. The Rush City Education Foundation mission statement is: To promote and enhance student achievement and invest in educational excellence.
If you or someone you know is interested in supporting or enhancing educational opportunities for Rush City students please plan to attend the February 7th meeting of the Rush City Education Foundation. The meeting will start at 6:00 pm in the Grant House Rose Room located at 80 West 4th Street, Rush City. This meeting will last about 60 minutes.
The bylaws call for at least four meetings per year, and additional meetings can be called as needed. The next step is to identify people who will serve on the Board of Directors and then select officers for the foundation.
Interested people are invited to attend the February 7th meeting and participate in the discussion. If you have questions please contact Matt Meissner (320-358-0274), Lori Nelson (320-358-3326), or the District Office (320-358-4855).
