Building a ROAR culture at Rush City Public Schools!

What does it mean to be a Rush City Tiger? It means more than wearing blue and gold. It means living out the values that define who we are based on ROAR: Respectful, Organized, Attentive, and Responsible.

Recently, the District-Wide Continuous Improvement Team spent two days at Resource Training & Solutions in St. Cloud learning, collaborating, and beginning the work of shaping our new Continuous Improvement Team structure. Elementary and secondary staff came together around a shared PreK-12 commitment to improving teaching, learning, and student success.

A key part of that work is defining what ROAR looks like, sounds like, and feels like across Rush City Schools, not just for students, but for every member of our staff and throughout our community. Being Respectful, Organized, Attentive, and Responsible provides a common language for how we treat one another, how we approach our work, and how we represent Rush City.

That work will continue during opening-week professional learning and activities, giving staff clear direction while building on the strong instructional work already underway. Additional learning opportunities, including the upcoming Unique Learners Conference hosted by SCRED, will further support our staff as we work to meet the needs of every learner.

ROAR is more than an acronym. It is a shared commitment to how we show up in our classrooms, in our schools, and in our community. As we begin a new school year, we are excited to build that culture together.
