We want to educate, support, and empower employees and their students to improve and maintain their overall health and well-being through physical lifestyle choices and to create a culture of wellness not only for the school district, but the whole community!
Vision Statement:
The Wellness Committee envisions a culture of well-being that encourages growth and vitality by working collaboratively with parents, school staff, and community resources to educate, encourage healthy choices and implement initiatives.
Mission Statement:
The Rush City Wellness Committee is dedicated to establishing and maintaining an environment that promotes overall student and staff wellness by supporting the adoption of attitudes that contribute to positive well-being and providing information, activities and services designed to support healthy lifestyle choices.
Goals:
To increase health awareness amongst staff and the community.

The wellness team will create and distribute an email that includes information on the wellness theme/programs/activities to the mailbox of each RC employee each week on Wednesdays.

Monthly newsletters updating the community.
To promote healthy lifestyle behaviors through educational and outreach activities.
- The wellness program
will provide monthly ideas for “Wellness Wednesdays”, where teachers can incorporate simple wellness activities/ challenges into their classrooms to improve both staff and student wellness.
To increase participation in wellness programs.

Get more opinions amongst staff and the community by providing programs they want. Spread the word and offer consistent activities.

Address the need for consistent health messages between the home and school environment.

Educate students, staff, and families on knowledge application and behavior self management skills to areas of nutrition and physical activity for healthy growth, development and maintenance.
