2024 Minnesota Hunter Education Firearm Safety Program

The field experience allows students to learn and demonstrate commonly accepted principles of safety in hunting and handling firearms. It includes live fire on a rifle range. Upon successful completion of this course, students receive a certificate. This certificate will allow the bearer to purchase a hunting license in Minnesota and other states where certification is required.

Requirements:  Students must be 12 years old by October 31, 2024.  The registration fee is $5.00 per student.

Dates: Monday, February 26th – Rush City High School Media Center
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM Registration & Parent / Student Introduction to the course; Parents or guardians must attend this session.  The parent release form must be signed by the parent or guardian.

A+ Driving School
DRIVE
R’S EDUCATION (Students who are 14 years of age and older)

This 30-hour program will be conducted by a certified instructor from the A+ Driving School and will fulfill the state driver’s education requirement.  The course will address the “how to” and “whys” of safe driving.  The format of the class will be lecture and active discussion.  After completion of the program, students will be able to set up and participate in behind the wheel sessions to meet the six hour state requirement.
